Current Mood: amused
Well, I was in a car accident today. Amber, Encyclopedic specimen of Wissitosis that she is, INSISTED on rotating her tires herself. With my assistance, she did. Only I decided to not eyeball her so intently when she checked to see that she had the tires on correctly, thinking she had it.
Well we're driving down the road (in her Chevy Tracker, no less), and she hears this woobling. We determine it is the front left tire, loose. She had forgotten to tighten the nuts down all the way. We stop, she tries to set them by hand (meanwhile I figure this should be OK for a short distance), and we get back on the road.
Let's just say Amber's driving habits have never quite been the best, and they sort of bit us both in the ass, even though we SHOULD have stopped right there and called for someone to bring some tools over.
Long story short, we make this one turn and...
CLUNK SKRRRRRRR. "Ooooooh.", went Amber, calmly and professionally handling the situation. I just let out a large sigh and sort of just...sat there, watching it all happen from the view of my own eyeballs.
Luckily, though, her dad was able to fix the front fender, buy some new lug bolts, AND the price of a new rotor actually went DOWN, even with next-day shipping. Whoohoo!
Adventure today, let me tell you. We're both fine, btw. That could have gone SOOO much worse than it did. Silly, spaced out, stubborn Amber who could have gotten it done down at Wal*Mart for $2.50/tire. XD I love you. <3 |
